Cupping

Cupping is a technique in which applies glass suction cups to areas of the body. To create suction, a flame is used to deplete the oxygen from the inside of glass cup which created a vacuum. This is then applied to the afflicted areas of the body and left for a brief period of time.

From a traditional perspective, cupping works by drawing out toxins from the body and unblock the flow of Qi around the body. It also stimulates blood circulation in and around the areas subjected to cupping and thus promotes the body's own healing.

Cupping is particularly effective in alleviating pain as a result of musculoskeletal injuries. During the session, cupping combined with acupressure to further enhance relaxation. Due to suction force, cupping will leave circular red bruising on areas of the body where the cup has been applied. These marks will usually fade away within 10 days.
